Six senior IAS officers appointed

NEW DELHI: The Government on Wednesday announced six senior-level appointments of IAS officers.

A.K.D. Jadhav of the 1970 batch of Maharashtra cadre, currently in the cadre, was appointed Secretary, Ministry of Mines.

Sunila Basant (Jharkhand 1970), currently Director-General, National Productivity Council, was posted as Secretary, Department of Drinking Water Supply.

Umesh Narain Panjiar (Bihar 1973), currently in the cadre, was posted as Director-General, National Productivity Council, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.

Satwant Reddy of the 1971 batch of Punjab cadre, currently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, was renotified as Special Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, by temporarily upgrading the present post.

Gouri Chatterji (West Bengal 1971), currently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, was also renotified as Special Secretary, Ministry of Power, by restoring the post to the level of Special Secretary.

Rabi Narayan Das (Gujarat 1971), currently Director, Enforcement, Department of Revenue, in the rank of Additional Secretary, was renotified in his present post in the rank and pay of Secretary, by temporarily upgrading the post.

The appointments were approved by a Cabinet committee, an official release said here.
