Key documents expose Maoist plans, says SP

`They decided to constitute special guerilla squads'

WARANGAL: The Superintendent of Police, M S Ravindra, said that they had in their possession key documents of the CPI (Maoist) party and were bracing to meet any challenge.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr. Ravindra said that they secured the copies of resolutions adopted by the `central military commission' meeting of the Maoist party held sometime in February-March. The extremist organisation has decided to do away with the present squad system and constituted `one plus two' action teams, including in plain areas. They decided to constitute special guerrilla squads and re-introduce platoons in forest areas, the SP said.

The Maoist party is reportedly planning for `intentional retreat' for the time being as the situation in the State was not conducive to it. In the backdrop of increased repression in the State, the party was planning to shift its important cadre and top leaders to Chattisgarh and other neighbouring States for safety, the SP said.

For some time, the party would function from outside the State and direct its action teams from there, the SP said.
