Storm water drains: three packages approved

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The State Government on Wednesday approved three packages for remodelling and development of primary and secondary storm water drains under Challaghatta Valley at a cost of Rs. 71 crores.

The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, had during his city visit on Monday expressed his dissatisfaction over the delay in taking up the project by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP).

A BMP statement said the Government also approved its proposal to pay the difference amount at 81 per cent following escalation of cost of three packages for remodelling and development of primary and secondary storm water drains in Koramangala Valley. The cost had gone up because of hike in steel prices.

The Government has agreed to bear the additional financial burden.
