Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR: The TDP activist and former PACS president, K. Ramnjinappa alias Ramanjaneyulu of Bandlapalli village in Penukonda mandal, who was allegedly attacked by Congress workers on May 26 succumbed to injuries at NIMS in Hyderabad on Sunday.

He was allegedly targeted by Congress activists as he had made arrangements for the visit of the party candidate, P. Sunita, at Nagaluru village.

Telugu Desam leaders -- C. Ramachandraiah, Laljan Basha, M. Jagannatham and V. Hanumantharaya Chowdary -- condoled the death of the activist and alleged that Congress was responsible for it.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters, TDP leaders said they would mobilise its key activists from 13 constituencies in the district, legislators in Hyderabad and MPs in New Delhi to protest against the poll irregularities, if any, resorted to by the Congress on June 2.

They also urged the special IGP, B. Bhubati Babu, not to allow outsiders to stay in Penukonda constituency on the day of polling.
