ECB keeps rates unchanged

FRANKFURT: The European Central Bank kept its main interest rate unchanged at 2 per cent on Thursday, its level for two straight years, despite weak growth in the euro-zone economy. The bank, chief monetary authority for the 12 countries that use the euro, made the decision at the monthly rate meeting of its 18-member governing council at its headquarters in Frankfurt.
