TDP poser to Congress on debate

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Legislature Party (TDLP) on Wednesday said that it would consider participating in the debate suggested by the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on the comparative development if the latter replied to a set of questions it proposed to send on the one-year rule of the Congress. At a press conference here, the TDP leaders -- N. Janardhana Reddy, Ch. Rajeshwara Rao and D. Uma Maheshwar Rao -- wondered what they should debate about, with the Government's achievement, which they termed a "big zero". The leaders said that a set of questions on the one-year rule would be sent to the CLP and based on the replies the TDP would consider participating in the debate. Meanwhile, the TDP spokesperson, N. Rajakumari, took exception to the Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy's statement on the TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, stating that the latter by changing his attire would not become a farmer.
