Back Maruti to hike Swift prices

BARELY a fortnight after launching its hatchback model `Swift', Maruti Udyog Ltd today said it would hike prices by Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 from Thursday.

The price increase comes at the end of an introductory offer announced by Maruti during the launch of the Swift on May 25. Maruti said it has received over 18,000 orders for the new car and that orders from Thursday will be made at the new price.

Under the new pricing, the Swift Lxi will cost Rs 3,95,000 (an increase by Rs 8,000), the Swift VXi at Rs 4,15,000 and the top end Swift ZXi will cost Rs 4,95,000 (both increased by Rs 10,000).
