Back Crest Animation gains on order hopes
Dealers said the interest in the stock has come up suddenly on expectation of some positive announcements by the company soon. The talk is that it may announce some big animation orders from international markets. However, the exact order size was not known. Company officials were not available for comments. On Tuesday, the Crest Animation stock gained 5.78 per cent at Rs 87.90 on the BSE with a volume of 3.01 lakh shares.
SRF on `buy' list SRF Ltd, a company into nylon tyre cords and polyester business, hit the 20-per cent upper circuit on Tuesday. Huge trading volumes accompanied the sharp rise in stock price. It closed at Rs 167.75 on the BSE with a volume of 34.72 lakh shares. On the NSE, it closed at Rs 168.15 with a volume of 1.90 crore shares. Dealers said the spurt in price and volume was mainly on talk that the company getting huge monetary benefits due to its efforts in reducing pollution. These benefits will be part of the Kyoto Protocol. The amount the company would receive is not yet clear. Several players have taken large positions on these expectations, as there would be a windfall gain for the company. Several broking houses are upbeat and put a `buy' on SRF.
Castrol up on open offer talk AFTER a long time, the Castrol India stock gained on hopes of an open offer for the company's shares. The stock gained 9.33 per cent at Rs 230.15 on the BSE with a volume of 10.46 lakh shares. The exact price at which the open offer from the parent company will come was not known. The open offer will be mainly to delist the shares of the company. In the past too, there was market buzz over the open offer that had led to a rise in the stock price of Castrol India. But that didn't prove real , resulting in a fall in the stock price later.
