Warehousing corporation chief lists proposals

SRIKAKULAM: The State Warehousing Corporation is planning to construct small godowns with a capacity enough for storing agricultural produce of 10 to 15 farmers. The capacity will range from 1,000 to 5,000 tonnes, according to the Chairman of State Warehousing Corporation, Satti Ramakrishna Reddy.

Speaking to newsmen here on Thursday, Mr. Reddy said that he came to the north coastal district to interact with farmers and other sections and assess their requirements so that plans could be formulated for implementation.

He said the proposed godowns would be more useful to farmers, particularly in the rural areas.

The corporation has godowns with 50,000-tonne capacity in Srikakulam district.
