Back Kerala: 101 blood donors honoured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the observance of the World Blood Donors Day, 101 donors were honoured at a function held at the Sree Chithra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology here on Tuesday.

The function was held in association with Terumo Penpol, manufacturers of blood bags and blood bank equipment. Dr K. Mohandas, Director of Sree Chithra, inaugurated the proceedings.

The donors were drawn from institutions such as Terumo Penpol, State Bank of Travancore, Marikar Motors, the Accountant General's Office, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) and a few educational institutions in the city.

Among those who addressed the function were Mr Padmakumar, Executive Director, Terumo Penpol; Mr Unnikrishna Panicker, State Drugs Inspector; and Dr K. Mohandas, Vice-President, Kerala Blood Donors Society.
