Singapore , June 14

IN a bid to strengthen its market position in the CDMA segment, Nokia has said that it would concentrate on using common resources and share the same platform for both its GSM and CDMA range of mobile handsets.

While Nokia is the market leader in the global GSM market, it is currently at the third position in the CDMA handset market.

As a part of this strategy, the company plans to develop the same accessories for both GSM and CDMA phones.

For instance, the company is planning to launch handset chargers that can be used both for GSM and CDMA handsets.

The company is even planning to phase out the existing GSM phones that have different chargers. In a bid to give more choice to the customers, the company plans to launch six CDMA phones in the Indian market during the next six months in both the high-end and the low-end ranges.
