Back Loan mela a big draw

COIMBATORE: The loan mela organised by the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) here on Saturday proved to be a big draw with 750 applications seeking financial assistance to the tune of Rs 98.3 crore being submitted to the participating banks.

The applicants sought financial assistance mainly for purchase of raw material, machinery and to meet the working capital requirements. According to Mr J. Balu, President, Codissia, State Bank of Travancore and Indian Bank topped the list with each bank receiving applications seeking loans for Rs 15 crore. NSIC, SIDBI, SBI, Bank of India and Canara Bank each received applications seeking loans worth Rs 10 crore.
