2,506 farmers treated under Yashaswini scheme

BIDAR: As many as 2,506 of the 1,32,436 farmers, who have enrolled themselves under the Yashaswini health insurance scheme, have been treated in Bidar district since the inception of the scheme.

Of them, 760 have undergone surgeries and 1,746 have been treated as outpatients, the Minister for Cooperation, R.V. Deshpande, said in reply to a question by Quazi Arshad Ali in the Legislative Council.

Payment

The Government is yet to release payment for the surgeries conducted on 96 farmers in 2003-04 and 92 farmers in 2004-05.

Prayavi hospital, Gurunanak hospital and Apex hospital, which have been empanelled in the district, have received Rs. 21 lakhs in 2003-04 and Rs. 24 lakhs in 2004-05, the Minister said, according to a press release issued here on Thursday by Mr. Ali.
