BANGALORE: Activists of Sangh Parivar organisations on Thursday staged a demonstration in front of Sir Puttanna Chetty Town Hall here condemning the terrorist attack on the Ayodhya temple complex. Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Jagarana Vedike and Bajrang Dal raised slogans against the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh Government accusing them of not providing adequate protection to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya. They also raised slogans hailing the paramilitary personnel who gunned down the terrorists. The leaders of these organisations, who addressed the gathering, said that it is a "shame" that none of the legislators raised the issue of terrorist attack on Ayodhya complex in the Legislative Assembly. A Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader said Bangalore has become a safe haven for terrorists and anti-nationals and alleged that the city police had failed to trace several Pakistani nationals who have been reported missing from here. He alleged that a former Deputy Commissioner of Police had subverted the investigation into the serial blasts at churches in 2000. "The official had seen to it that the SIM card of the mobile phone used by one of the accused did not reach the hands of the investigators," he alleged. The Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs, P.C. Mohan (Chickpet) and Nirmal Kumar Surana (Bharathinagar), and the former Chamarajpet MLA, Pramila Nesargi, participated in the demonstration that passed of peacefully.
