MUMBAI: With less than 48 hours left for the start of the Maharashtra legislature's monsoon session, expelled Shiv Sena leader Narayan Rane has announced that he will seek the disqualification of 25 MLAs on July 11 for violating the whip by staying away from the July 8 meeting.
After holding closed door meetings on Saturday, Mr. Rane told reporters that he would file a petition before Assembly Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar on Monday, seeking disqualification of the newly elected Sena Legislature Party leader, Ramdas Kadam, "chief whip" Gajanan Kiritikar, senior leader Subash Desai, former Speaker Datta Nalavade and former Minister Babanrao Gholap and 20 others for violating the whip.
