Back 41 cases of excise, service tax evasion booked in June Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 13 THE Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence (DGCEI) has booked 41 cases during June for evasion of central excise and service tax. The total revenue involved in these cases stood at Rs 83.40 crore. Of the 41 cases, 26 related to central excise involving revenue of Rs 68.88 crore and 15 cases related to service tax involving revenue of Rs 14.52 crore. An official release also said that DGCEI recovered an amount of Rs 11.92 crore as voluntary payment of duty during investigation.
