Back Crude pipeline: IOC to offer project consultancy to CPCL

THE pipelines division of Indian Oil Corporation has signed an agreement to provide Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) project management consultancy services for a proposed crude oil pipeline from Chennai Port Trust to Manali Refinery.

The laying of a 42-inch diameter, 16.7-km-long pipeline, passing through congested city areas, would be a challenging task for the construction group, according to an IOC release. CPCL operates a 9.5-million-tonnes-a-year refinery at Manali, Chennai, and the crude oil requirement is handled through Chennai Port Trust.
