Inane action, mostly

The box-office opening suggests that the action movie rocks, but `dus' it really? Let's see... suited, booted, gun toting men , tough chicks who give flying kicks , exploding cars and a silly story.

But even though director Anubhav Woo, er Sinha gives you plenty of close-ups of a wicked bat tattooed on Shilpa Shetty's back, there are only so many holes in the script you can ignore. Dus is a date when something explosive is about to happen — the kind that calls for Sanjay Dutt's anti-terrorist cell to deal with. His team includes femme fabulous Shilpa, younger brother `beta' Abhishek who smokes on the sly and goofy Zayed Khan for whom defusing a bomb is as easy as apple pie (not very easy). Suniel Shetty surfaces in Canada where the big event by terrorist Jaamwal is supposed to happen on the 10th. Esha's character is a bit of a brainteaser. Maybe because she has a brand new body and haircut they decided it would be a shame to let it go unseen.

Right from the catchy title song (nice work Vishal-Shekhar), Abhishek has all the women in the hall screaming hysterically. Pankaj Kapoor drums up quite a performance. Delhi Ganesh makes an appearance as a Tamil politician of dubious morals.
