Girls perform better than boys in LL.B. examination

MANGALORE: Mangalore University has recorded a pass percentage of 34.70 in the final examination of the five-year LL.B. course conducted during April-May 2005.

Of the 291 candidates who appeared for the examination, only 101 students have passed, according to the results released here by the office of the Registrar (Evaluation) on Thursday.

In all, girls have outperformed boys in the examination. Of the 150 girls who took the examination, 58 girls (38.66 per cent) have passed. Of the 141 boys who appeared for the examination, 43 (30.49 per cent) have passed.

Udupi district has recorded a poor pass percentage with only 12 of the 61 students who wrote the examination (19.67 per cent) passing it.

In Dakshina Kannada district, 89 of the 230 students who appeared for the examination (38.69 per cent) have passed it.

Of the 152 students who appeared for the three-year LL.B. course examination, 95 students (62.5 per cent) have passed.

Of the 77 girls who wrote the examination, 52 (67.53 per cent) have passed and of the 75 boys who appeared for the examination, 43 (57.33 per cent) have passed.

Dakshina Kannada district has recorded a pass percentage of 64 while Udupi has recorded 61.03 per cent.
