GUWAHATI: Leaders of the All-Assam Students' Union (AASU) and the Religious Minorities Organisations Coordination Committee met on Saturday here and discussed the situation arising out of the repeal of the Illegal Migrants (Determination by Tribunals) Act, 1983. The meeting was held after the leaders of the Coordination Committee, which includes influential organisations such as the State unit of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, and Milli Council contacted the AASU leaders and expressed their desire to meet. The AASU leaders, who had just arrived at their headquarters for an emergency meeting of the central executive committee, readily agreed. Leaders of both organisations will make a joint declaration on Sunday on the outcome of discussions.
