Back Strike at Honda plant ends Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 18 HONDA Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday said the near month-long labour unrest at the company's plant at Manesar had ended after the strikers accepted to join duty ``without any conditions.'' The company, a fully owned subsidiary of Japan's two-wheeler major Honda Motor Co., had suffered losses to the tune of Rs 100 crore after about 90 per cent of the 2,500 `Line Associates' had gone on strike, which saw the deployment of police at the factory and reduction in production levels. ``We are pleased to announce that the Line Associates have agreed to sign the undertaking and resume normal duties without any conditions,'' HMSI said in a statement here.
