IN a bid to make a comeback in the domestic market, the Rs 450-crore Weston Electronics on Wednesday said it has added new capacities and would expand its dealership network this fiscal.

The company, which sells the Weston brand of colour televisions and DVDs, has set up two new manufacturing units in Dehra Dun at an investment of Rs 4.5 crore.

"The plants have three lines of production - for colour televisions, DVDs and air-conditioners," Weston Electronics Vice-President (Marketing), Mr Sunil Sethi, said.

The new additions take the number of Weston's manufacturing units in India to nine.

The company has set a 12 per cent growth target for the current year and is targeting to grow its CTV sales by 35 per cent. Apart from air-conditioners, Weston also has plans of foraying into the microwave oven and washing machine segment.

The company claims to have a sizable market as well and stated that it has exported more than three lakh television sets in the last couple of years.
