Aid for tsunami victims

WHAT HAS the Rotary Club of Bangalore Orchards to do with Karaikal, a part of the Union Territory of Pondicherry but closer to Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu?

K. Ravi, who has just been elected club president, has announced the setting up of a vocational training centre at a cost of Rs. 4.2 lakhs at Karaikar, to help youngsters who became victims of last December's tsunami.

Bart Hellemans, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ING Vysya Bank, has promised the bank will join hands with the club and sponsor such community service projects.
