Back TN pharma dealers seek Act amendment

THE Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association has demanded that the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotrotic Substances Act be amended facilitating inspection of pharmaceutical dealers by drug inspectors only.

At its executive committee meeting at Kodaikanal recently, the Association resolved to urge the Centre to amend the Act, withdrawing the powers of inspection by police and excise officials and that till such time, the State should avoid holding inspections by officers of other departments.
