Back Transportation cost up Our Bureau
ALTHOUGH the impact of the diesel price hike announced in the third week of June was five per cent, the actual increase in transportation costs was around 13.6 per cent, according to a study based on Road Freight Index developed by TCI Ltd. This was because of the impact of other factors such as toll charges (five per cent), compliance with Euro emission norms (0.85 per cent), costlier lubes and tyres (0.75 per cent) and increased costs of drivers and en route expenses (two per cent).
