Hyderabad , July 24

MARKING the completion of 1,000th RFA (Radio Frequency Catheter Ablations) procedure, Care Hospital has opened the Heart Rhythm Clinic at its Nampally facility.

During the RFA procedure, specialised catheters deliver radio frequency energy at the target sites in heart to remove the abnormal tissue to correct a condition that results in irregular heartbeats.

The facility, managed by specialist doctors, offers diagnostic and treatment for people suffering from palpitations, skipped heart beats, fluttering or racing heart beat, giddiness and fainting.

"People suffering from these symptoms should seek advice as they could indicate serious heart rhythm problems," Dr B. Soma Raju, Chairman of Care Hospital, said.

Addressing a press conference after the launch of the clinic here recently, he said the facility could identify the problem accurately and correct the irregularity in heart beat.

There were 20 lakh people in India who suffered from curable `heart arrhythmias' (abnormal rhythms).
