Thiruvananthapuram , July 27 AN advertisement done by the Thiruvananthapuram-based Stark Communications Pvt. Ltd to celebrate the 125th anniversary of The Hindu has won a finalist certificate at the New York Festivals. The ad, released by Kerala Tourism, clinched a finalist certificate in the `best copywriting' category of the New York Festivals' Design, Print and Outdoor Awards 2005. This year, only a bronze and five finalist certificates were awarded in the `best copywriting' category. Swarup B.R., Director, Stark Communications Pvt. Ltd, who wrote the award-winning advertisement says: "The whole idea was to look at communication from a refreshing, socially relevant perspective that made sense to both the brands - The Hindu as well as Kerala Tourism." Besides congratulating The Hindu on its 125th anniversary, the ad also sought to highlight the paper's tradition of dispassionate dissemination of news, he added. The New York Festivals has been showcasing the `world's best work' in advertising for the past 48 years. The entries for this year's awards were judged online by a panel of 80 creative directors from around the world. In addition to being showcased on the Internet, the award-winning ads will also be published in the next `New York Festivals Annual of Advertising.'
