Back NGOs in Karnataka mid-day meal scheme

MANGALORE: Mr Jabbar Khan Honnali, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister, has said that the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) should participate in implementation of the Government's mid-day meal scheme for school students.

He was speaking at a function to launch mid-day meal scheme at a Government higher primary school at Kavoor in Mangalore on Saturday. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), in association with the Karnataka Government, has launched the mid-day meal scheme in the school. The Minister said that the mid-day meal scheme of the Government has given jobs to as many as 2,315 people in the State. Mr Khan complimented ISKCON for participating in the implementation of mid-day meal scheme in other parts of the State.
