Back Avinash Chander to take charge

HYDERABAD: Mr Avinash Chander is set to take over as Director, Advanced System Laboratory from Monday.

He joined DRDO in 1972 and has pioneered major technology developments including Strapdown Inertial Navigation Systems, Long Range Ballistic Missile Guidance and Simulation. He was also associated with the Agni Technology Demonstrator Development under Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Mr R.N. Agarwal. Mr Chander later took over the leadership of the AGNI Operationalisation Programme in 1998 and led the successful flight tests of A2 & A1 Systems. He is also leading the development of A3 systems.
