Back TN keen on private role in core sector Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 31 TAMIL Nadu is taking up major public private participation initiatives (PPP) in infrastructure development in the State particularly in the areas of ports, roads, power and industrial parks offering scope of investments. The Secretary, Industries Department of Tamil Nadu, Mr Rameshram Mishra, said a study is underway with World Bank assistance to design a policy framework to promote infrastructure development through PPP. In his address at the `Invest Tamil Nadu Session' of the SUMINFRA 2005 organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Hyderabad, Mr Mishra said that the State Government is keen on engaging itself in private projects through management participation of operations and maintenance, financial participation through debts and equity, and offering policy inputs via Build, Operate, Own, Transfer (BOOT), Build, Operate, Lease, Transport (BOLT), among other models.
