Olympics for special children

Vizag Jaycees will conduct Special Olympics - 2005, a sports meet for physically, mentally and visually challenged children at the Police Stadium on August 21. Special children who wish to participate in the event may send their entries through their respective institutions or parents to Rajesh Kochar (Tel: 2560777), Kochar Enterprises, Suryabagh, on or before August 10. - Staff Reporter

Yoga for women

The Extension Wing of the Institute of Yoga and Consciousness, Andhra University, will organise special general yoga classes daily for women at the Yoga Village from Thursday, according to the institute director J.V. Prabhakara Rao. Details can be had from the Yoga Village on the Beach Road (Tel: 2566640).

Blood donation

A blood donation camp was conducted by the A.S. Raja Voluntary Blood Bank on the premises of Vaibhav Jewellers in Dwarakanagar on Tuesday. As many as 50 persons volunteered to donate blood of whom 28 were identified as `eligible persons' to donate blood.

Maths Olympiad

City Talent Search Exams (CTSE) will conduct a 'Maths Olympiad' at the AGL Degree and PG College on August 7. According to its chief coordinator B.V.K. Babji (Tel: 98484-20782), the test is designed to help aspirants to appear for entrance to be conducted by IIT Ramaiah.

Cultural meet

An inter-college cultural meet will be organised by Creative Entertainers in connection with Independence Day celebrations. Competitions in dance, singing, fancy dress and music (instrumental) will be held, according to the event manager, S.U.N. Murthy (Tel: 94402-23424).
