No withdrawal of flood cover: IRDA

NEW DELHI: In the wake of insurance claims in flood-affected Maharashtra, the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority on Thursday said public and private general insurers would not withdraw flood cover for homes and commercial establishments, IRDA Chairman C. S. Rao said in a statement.

The assurance comes in the wake of reports that insurers are contemplating withdrawal of such cover.
