BANGALORE: All the districts in the State received normal to excess rainfall during the week ending July 30, according to the Drought Monitoring Cell. During the week (July 23 to 29), the State recorded an average of 136 mm of rainfall as against the normal rainfall of 65 mm. Thus, the State as whole has been classified under the excess rainfall category. As many as 139 of the 175 taluks received excess rainfall during the week as against 46 taluks in the corresponding week last year.
Sowing
An area of 39.83 lakh hectares was sown up to July 25 as against the normal area of 40.63 lakh hectares in the kharif season.
