BCCI technical panel to meet today

Mumbai: The Technical Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet here on Saturday to examine the feasibility of incorporating the revised ICC Standard Playing Conditions for One-Day Internationals into the rules of domestic one-day tournaments like the Challenger Series, Prof. D.B. Deodhar Trophy and the BCCI one-day tournament.

India's representatives in the ICC panel of umpires, Messrs. A.V. Jayaparakash, K. Hariharan and I. Sivaraman, have been invited to attend the meeting along with former Test umpire Prof. R.S. Rathore.

The technical committee's recommendations will have to be approved by the BCCI's Working Committee.

The technical committee's observations and recommendations will be deliberated upon at three workshops to be held in New Delhi (North and Central Zone umpires) from August 20 to 21, Hyderabad (South Zone) from August 23 to 24 and Pune (West and East Zone) from August 26 to 27. — Special Correspondent
