Back 22,071 units get aid under RYS programme Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Aug. 25 AS many as 22,071 units, covering 30,000 youth, have been given financial assistance to the tune of Rs 178.42 crore under the Rajiv Yuva Shakthi (RYS) programme so far. The Government targeted to sanction Rs 600 crore to 60,000 units covering one lakh youth this financial year. The Youth Service Department would organise training programmes across the State beginning September 1, Mr G.N. Rao, Commissioner of Youth Services, said here in a press release. Over 35,000 youth got a total of Rs 200.82 crore during 2004-05. Of these 24,178 youth, representing 18,180 units, grounded their projects worth Rs 136.06 crore. The Department had targeted to train 15,000 youth this year and equip them with necessary skills to attempt Army recruitment drives.
