Back NRDC to commercialise goat plague vaccine

THE National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) has signed an agreement with the Pune-based Intervet India Pvt Ltd for the commercial licence of the PPR (peste des petits ruminants) vaccine.

The PPR vaccine has been developed by the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar in Uttar Pradesh. It is a protective vaccine for sheep and goats from a virus known as `goat plague'.
