KOZHIKODE: Records continue to fall in the senior National powerlifting championship. After the nine new National records on the opening day, five new marks were set on day two at the V.K. Krishna Menon Indoor Stadium here on Thursday. Three of those records were set in the men's 67.5 kg alone, by the two Railwaymen, K. Alaguraj (deadlift and total) and P. Rajapandyan (in squat in the same class). Another Railway lifter also walked into the record books, as T. Murali Mohan (75 kg class) got it right in his fourth attempt in the deadlift. Balinder Singh of Haryana, who walked away with the gold in this category, bettered the record for the total. The results: Men: 67.5 kg: 1. K. Alaguraj (Rly) (267.5, squat, 137.5 benchpress, 295.5 deadlift: NR; OR: 295, 700.5: NR; OR: 687.5), 2. P. Rajapandyan (Rly), (275.0: NR; OR: 270.0, 150.0, 252.5, 677.5), 3. Rajendra Patil (MP) (247.5, 155.0, 270.0, 672.5). 75 kg: 1. Balinder Singh (Har) (275, 172.5, 312.5, 760: NR; OR: 735), 2. T. Murali Mohan (Rly), (292.5, 160.0, 307.5, 760), 3. Saurabh Kapoor (Pun), (262.5, 172.5, 280, 715). Women: 44kg: 1. Santoshi Majhi (Cht), (132.5, 55.0, 152.5, 340), 2. Pushpamma Joseph (Ker), (135, 67.5, 135, 337.5), 3.
