Back Drive against LPG misuse at Ernakulam

KOCHI: The Ernakulam district administration has announced that registration of vehicles fitted with unauthorised gas kits would be cancelled with immediate effect. A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting at the Collectorate to discuss issues pertaining to the shortage in LPG supply.

The meet also decided to compile a list of LPG consumers in the district, which would be ready by December 31. This will help identify bogus consumer cards. The special squads constituted to prevent the misuse of domestic LPG in hotel and commercial institutions will extent its search operations in rural areas. The meet announced that steps would be taken to ensure adequate LPG supply during the Onam season.
