Back Corporation Bank to set up high-tech library in Mangalore

CORPORATION Bank, as part of its centenary celebrations, will set up a high-tech library in Mangalore. The Chairman and Managing Director, Mr V.K. Chopra, laid the foundation stone for the building here on Tuesday.

The building, which will come up on the land adjoining Mangala Stadium, will be completed by February 2006. The Rs 2-crore building will have three floors with an area of 4,000 sq ft on each floor.

Apart from the high-tech library, the bank plans to sponsor libraries at 25 villages across the country. A bank release said here on Tuesday that these libraries are expected by the end of December.

The bank will also disburse scholarships to 100 students in select villages to enable them pursue their higher studies, the release added.
