Cash stolen from hundis of two temples in city

BANGALORE: Thieves broke into two temples in the city on Wednesday and took away cash from the hundis.

The police said that by breaking open the rear door, the thieves entered the Ganesha Temple on 16th Cross, Lakkasandra, and made away with the cash.

On a complaint by the temple archak, Visveshwara Bhat, the Adugodi police have registered a case.

The other burglary took place at the Sri Venugoplaswamy Temple in Yelahanka Town, the police said.

The temple archak, Srinivasa, has lodged a complaint with the Yelahanka police.

Snatched

A thief snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 from Renuka Sridhar, who was asleep at her house in Vidyaranyapura police station limits in the early hours of Thursday.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. at Renuka's house in Bullet Krishnappa Layout in Thindlu in Vidyaranyapura, the police said.

The Vidyaranyapura police have registered a case.

Laptop stolen

Thieves smashed the windscreens of a software engineer's car that was parked on Castle Road and stole a briefcase containing a laptop and a projector, together worth Rs. 1.15 lakhs, on Wednesday.

On a complaint by the engineer, Ameeruddin, the Ashoknagar police have registered a case.
