Onions being unloaded at the Yeshwanthpur APMC yard in Bangalore on Thursday. The prices have risen to Rs 1,000-Rs 1,300 a quintal from Rs 450 - 650 last month. Retail prices are ruling around Rs 16 per kg. The onions come from Maharashtra. The prices have gone up in view of heavy rains in Maharashtra, leading to damage of crop and stocks.
