Back Maral Overseas may complete capacity expansion next June

MARAL Overseas Ltd, a member of the Bhilwara group, which is expanding its textile/apparel production capacity at a capital outlay of Rs 150 crore is likely to complete the project by June next year, according to Mr Shekhar Agarwal, Managing Director of the company.

The company has already spent Rs 50 crore in knitting, processing and garmenting facilities. The investment of another Rs 100 crore is now being made to enhance spinning capacity (from the present 54,000 to 70,000 spindles) and to set up a thermal power plant.

Mr Agarwal who is here in connection with a textile conference on `redefining textile business' told Business Line that the turnover of Maral Overseas is expected to be at Rs 310 crore for the 2005-06 fiscal and would go up to Rs 425 crore the next year when the expanded capacity starts operating.

The company's knitted fabric production is being stepped up from 4,400 tonnes to 5,000 tonnes and its processing capacity from 3,600 tonnes to 8,000 tonnes.
