Back Huge scope seen for animation industry Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Sept. 18 THERE is scope for a $3-5 billion market for the animation industry in the next two to three years, Mr Jesh Krishnamurthy, an animation expert, has said. There was also potential for the country to become a global animation hub. Mr Krishnamurthy, who was here to address a seminar on career opportunities in animation and visual effects, said a large number of animation studios in the West were looking at India to outsource their animation projects. Mr Krishnamurthy was associated with Hollywood films such as Batman Begins, Tomb Raider, Fight Club and The Cell Lost in Space. He also taught animation. The seminar was organised by Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), the academic wing of Maya Entertainment Ltd.MAAC is promoted by producer-director Mr Ketan Mehta and actress Ms Deepa Sahi. Earlier, MAAC showcased its work in visual and special effects for various films. With more than 40 educational facilities in India, it plansto expand its presence abroad shortly.
