Back `Engineers have major role in welfare of agricultural sector'

ENGINEERING professionals should focus on utilising their knowledge for the growth of manufacturing and primary sectors, according to the Director of Manipal Institute of Technology, Prof B.S. Prabhu.

Inaugurating the engineers' day celebrations at New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) here on Saturday, Prof Prabhu said that primary sector, especially agriculture sector, is facing various problems.

Though the green and white revolutions helped in solving the problems of farmers to a considerable extent, still engineers have major role to play in the welfare of agriculture sector.
