CHENNAI: The Congress Legislature Party on Wednesday criticised Union Minister of State for Industry and Commerce E.V.K.S. Elangovan for his remarks against CLP leader S.R. Balasubramoniyan. At a meeting here, Congress legislators urged party president Sonia Gandhi to take disciplinary action against Mr. Elangovan for demanding Mr. Balasubramoniyan's resignation. They said it was unbecoming of a Union Minister to indulge in personal attacks against party leaders. Mr. Elangovan had made it a practice to violate party discipline by making unnecessary comments on alliance party leaders and against his own partymen, they added.
