Back Five cos participate in GAIL's pre-bid meet for technical advisors

Five companies participated in the pre-bid meet called by GAIL (India) Ltd for the appointment of technical consultants to undertake pre-feasibility study for the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) pipeline project.

The companies that participated in the pre-bid meet include Snamprogetti of Italy, Technip of Germany, J.P. Kenny of Australia, Tractebel of Belgium and ILF of UK. Various issues and queries raised by the potential bidders were discussed during the meeting, a GAIL release said.

According to the release, the pre-feasibility of the estimated 2,100 km pipeline, of which 1,100 km will be in Iran, 750 km will be in Pakistan and 250 km in India, is scheduled to be completed by mid-December 2005.

Having been entrusted with the responsibility to appoint technical and legal advisors for the Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline project, GAIL had earlier this month, floated global tenders for the appointment of these advisors.
