Back New facility at Hyderabad passport office

HYDERABAD: The Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr E. Ahmed, has launched an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) with a 30-line fibre optic network that enables passport applicants get information on passport procedures.

Applicants can dial the landline number 1250244 and mobile number 12506. The minister also launched an online police verification system to ensure timely and accurate receipt of police reports and online registration by Authorised Travel Agents.

Mr Ahmed directed the passport office to streamline procedures and take steps to issue passports within 10 days after police verification reaches the office. The Passport Officer, Hyderabad was lauded for issuing 2.85 lakh passports during 2004.
