Back Remittag Soft files for 8 e-learning tool patents

E-LEARNING solutions that address the need of corporations by helping save training costs and expedite learning process are commonplace. How about customised software for an individual - a youth, a teacher, or someone taking a competitive examination?

It was the quest to help create one's own personalised e-learning system that resulted in the formation of Remittag Software Company. The company has developed several innovative products and filed for eight patents.

Mr Gautam D. Goradia, Managing Director, told Business Line: "We are a start-up and have put in significant work to develop these products, which we believe are currently not available anywhere.

He added: "The passion to crack this problem was such that we put in close to 18 hours a day on occasions to develop these solutions. My wife is an active conductor of quiz competitions. During the course of her effort to collect data for one such quiz competition, she was at a loss to find the right question for right audience. Thereafter, she realised that it was a problem to organise the available information systematically thus created, even tougher to retrieve it."

This quest has helped create a host of software applications all in the e-learning and learning management arena. These are useful for individuals to track and organise information better.

"Traditionally, we come from a family business engaged in textiles. This foray was aimed to solve the problem we faced. And, as we began addressing this, we realised that these can be developed for different individuals - teachers, students, or managers. Now we are trying to reach out to the world with these solutions."

Remittag solutions address the education domain covering Q&A, Encyclopaedia, Dictionary, Builder of Libraries, and so on.

"We plan to take up with those engaged in tech education such as NIIT and ILFS and computer makers like HCL and see if these can be bundled with their offerings. The company alliance with Reader's Digest has helped distribute 35,000 copies of vocabulary software," Mr Goradia said.
