Back Nabard sanctions Rs 51.87 cr to Kerala Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 51.87 crore to the State Government for construction of bridges and rural roads. According to a Nabard press release, this amount has been sanctioned from the bank's Rural Infrastructure Development Fund XI. The amount sanctioned by Nabard will be used for implementing 18 rural road projects in six districts of the State and also for the construction of nine bridges in five districts. The districts covered by the rural roads project are Idukki, Malappuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta and Palakkad, the release says. Districts covered by the bridges project include Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam and Thrissur. The roads and bridges projects are expected to generate non-recurring employment of 18.98 lakh mandays during the implementation phase, the release adds.
