Fish traders preparing to store a catch at the Howrah fish market during the `bandh' on Thursday in Kolkata.

One among the biggest fish markets in the country, the Howrah Fish Market handles loads from Bangladesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. According to traders, every day business of over Rs 1 crore is done at the market.
